Privacy Policy
This policy explains how UCHOOSETHENEWS LIMITED ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use Curato at uchoosethe.shop. It also explains the data protection rights available to you.
Last updated: 13 July 2026 · UCHOOSETHENEWS LIMITED · Governing law: England and Wales
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is UCHOOSETHENEWS LIMITED, 80 Houston Road Formakin Estate, PA7 5NX, United Kingdom. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at support@uchoosethe.shop or +44 7962343267. We operate Curato as an online-only digital service worldwide.
2. What we collect
- Account data: name, email address and authentication details when you create an account or subscribe.
- Subscription and billing data: plan, billing interval, billing address and payment status. We do not receive or store full card numbers (see section 5).
- Content you provide: the topic, audience, format and tone choices you make and the material you paste or upload to be drafted into an issue, plus the drafts, image assets and reels generated from it.
- Support data: messages you send us and the enquiry forms you submit.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and basic usage events needed to run and secure the service.
3. Collection sources — where the data comes from
Our collection sources are:
- Directly from you — the forms you submit, the material and choices you enter in the studio, your account settings and your support messages.
- Automatically from your device — cookies, local storage and server logs when you use the service.
- From our payment processor — subscription and payment status, never your full card details.
4. Why we use it and our legal bases
- To provide the studio — draft issues, generate assets and reels, and let you export them. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- To take payment and manage subscriptions. Legal basis: performance of a contract and compliance with legal obligations (tax and accounting).
- To provide support and respond to enquiries. Legal basis: legitimate interests and, where relevant, performance of a contract.
- To secure the service and prevent abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- To send service and, where you consent, occasional product messages. Legal basis: consent or legitimate interests; you can opt out at any time.
5. Payments — the card-data boundary
Subscriptions are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Card details are entered on the provider's secure, PCI-DSS compliant systems. UCHOOSETHENEWS LIMITED never receives or stores your full card number, CVC or expiry. We receive only the information needed to fulfil your subscription, such as the last four digits, card brand, billing country and payment status.
6. AI data handling — user input, generated results and uploads
User input: the topic, audience, format and tone you choose, and the text you type, paste or upload as source material, is processed only to generate your issue and run the service for you. We process this user input on our servers and, where a model provider is used, pass only the user input needed for that generation.
Generated results: the drafts, image assets and teaser reels created from your user input belong to you and are processed only to deliver and let you export them.
File uploads and sample data: any files or sample data you provide are treated as user input under this section. Sample prompts we ship in the studio are our own example content, not your data.
We do not use your user input or generated results to train AI models. We do not sell this content, and we do not publish or distribute your issues on your behalf — you export and publish them yourself.
Storage and deletion: cached user input and generated results are retained only as long as needed to deliver and support the service and are cleared by default within 30 days, unless you have saved them to your account or a longer period is required by law. You can request deletion of your user input and results at any time via support@uchoosethe.shop.
7. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with processors that help us run Curato:
- Hosting and delivery: our cloud hosting and CDN provider.
- Payments: Stripe, for subscription billing.
- Database and storage: our managed database and file storage provider.
- Email: our transactional email provider for receipts and service messages.
- AI processing: where a model provider is used to generate drafts or assets, limited to the inputs needed for that generation.
We may also disclose data where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.
8. International transfers
We may process data outside your country, including outside the UK and EEA. Where we do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK International Data Transfer Agreements, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision, so your data stays protected.
9. How long we keep it
Account and subscription records are kept for the life of your account and for as long as legal, tax and accounting obligations require after it closes. Support messages are kept for up to 24 months. Studio inputs and generated results follow the 30-day default in section 6.
10. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, secret management for API keys and least privilege for staff access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to notify you and regulators of any breach where required.
11. Your rights (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)
You have the right to:
- access a copy of your personal data;
- correct inaccurate data;
- erase data (the "right to be forgotten");
- restrict or object to processing;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time; and
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
To exercise any right, email support@uchoosethe.shop. We respond within the time limits set by law.
12. California rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request access and deletion, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. To make a request, contact support@uchoosethe.shop.
13. Cookies and analytics
We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site and secure your session, and limited analytics to understand usage. See our Cookie Policy for the full list and your choices.
14. Automated decisions and children
Curato generates drafts and creative assets, but we do not make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. Curato is not intended for children under 13, who may not use the service; users aged 13–17 require the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Changes and contact
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. For any privacy request or complaint, contact UCHOOSETHENEWS LIMITED at support@uchoosethe.shop, +44 7962343267, or 80 Houston Road Formakin Estate, PA7 5NX, United Kingdom.
